JicoCalc Privacy Policy
Scope: JicoCalc client products and related online services
Initial Publication Date: June 6, 2023
Effective Date of This Version: March 9, 2026
Last Updated: March 9, 2026
1. Scope
This Privacy Policy applies to JicoCalc client products and related online services provided to end users ("JicoCalc", the "App", "we", "us", or "our").
JicoCalc is a utility application focused on calculators, unit conversions, productivity tools, and certain network-based query tools. Different features involve different types of data processing:
- Many core calculation, conversion, and local settings features run entirely on your device.
- Some features require network access, such as exchange rate retrieval, version checks, web or network query tools, advertising, crash monitoring, analytics, in-app purchases, and purchase restoration.
At present, this Privacy Policy primarily applies to the officially released mobile app versions distributed through public app stores. Different platforms, distribution channels, or versions may integrate different advertising, payment, or third-party services. In such cases, the actual features, in-app disclosures, and any separate policy applicable to that version shall prevail.

3. Information We Process and Why
3.1 Information Stored on Your Device
To provide the core functionality of the App, we may store certain information locally on your device, including:
- app settings and preferences, such as language, theme, startup options, and certain feature switches;
- search history, favorites, custom configurations, and recent inputs for certain tools;
- local cache, configuration files, and temporary data needed to maintain feature continuity; and
- content, queries, and parameters you actively enter while using the App.
This information is generally stored locally on your device and is used to:
- maintain your settings and user experience;
- help you reuse saved configurations and history; and
- improve startup speed and feature stability.
Unless a specific feature itself requires network processing, we do not proactively upload such locally stored content to our servers.
3.2 Information Processed for Network-Based Features
When you use features that require network access, the App may process necessary request-related information, such as:
- app version and platform type, for version checks;
- exchange rate requests, in order to retrieve current exchange rate data;
- when you use network-based query tools, such as website status, SSL, WHOIS, or Ping, the domain names, URLs, IP addresses, request parameters, or target addresses you enter may be sent to the relevant servers, target websites, or related service providers in order to return query results; and
- when you open the Privacy Policy, Terms of Service, or external links, your device may connect to the relevant websites.
Such information is processed only to the extent necessary to provide the corresponding network-based feature.
3.3 Device, Operational, and Diagnostic Information
To ensure the stable, compatible, and secure operation of the App, we may process:
- device model, operating system version, app version, language, region, screen or runtime environment, and similar device or app information;
- network status, basic request errors, crash logs, error stacks, and performance diagnostics; and
- anonymous or de-identified page views, feature interactions, and usage frequency data.
We use this information mainly to:
- investigate issues and fix crashes or compatibility problems;
- evaluate feature usage and improve the product experience; and
- support security review, anti-abuse measures, and operational reliability.
3.4 Advertising and Ad Personalization
The publicly released app store versions of the App may integrate Google AdMob to display advertisements and support the continued operation of the free version.
In advertising-related scenarios, relevant service providers may process information such as:
- advertising identifiers, such as the Android Advertising ID;
- device information, app information, network environment, ad impressions, and ad interaction data; and
- information necessary for attribution or advertising measurement.
On iOS, where required by the system, we may request App Tracking Transparency (ATT) authorization in order to support ad personalization or advertising measurement. If you deny authorization, you may still continue using the App, but the ads you see may be less personalized.
3.5 In-App Purchases
The App may offer in-app purchases, such as Pro benefits that remove ads and unlock certain paid features.
When you use in-app purchase or restore purchase features:
- payments, billing, and order processing are handled by app store platforms such as Apple App Store or Google Play;
- we do not directly collect or store your full payment-sensitive information, such as bank card numbers or payment passwords; and
- we may receive limited order-related information, such as product identifiers, purchase results, restore results, and transaction verification status, in order to grant or restore the benefits you purchased.
4. Sensitive Information We Do Not Proactively Collect
In the current publicly released versions of the App, we do not proactively request or collect the following information for core functionality purposes:
- precise location information;
- contacts, SMS, or call logs;
- microphone, camera, or photo library contents;
- calendar data, health data, facial or fingerprint biometric information; and
- social account passwords, payment passwords, or similar highly sensitive credentials.
If a future feature truly requires a new permission or a new personal information processing scenario, we will explain it to you before the feature is enabled and obtain your consent where required.
5. Permissions and System Interfaces We May Use
Based on the current implementation of the App, we may use the following permissions or system interfaces:
- network access, for version checks, exchange rate retrieval, network tools, advertising, crash monitoring, analytics, opening online documents, and in-app purchase related requests;
- network state access, for optimizing request behavior and detecting network availability;
- vibration access, for haptic feedback in certain interaction scenarios;
- iOS App Tracking Transparency (ATT), to support ad personalization or advertising measurement after your authorization; and
- app store payment interfaces, such as StoreKit or Google Play Billing, for in-app purchases, order verification, and purchase restoration.
6. How We Share, Transfer, and Publicly Disclose Information
6.1 Sharing
We do not sell your personal information.
We share necessary information only to the extent required to provide services, including with the following types of service providers:
- advertising service providers;

6.3 Public Disclosure
Unless required by applicable law, judicial or administrative authorities, or with your explicit consent, we do not publicly disclose your personal information.

Please note:
- when you use network tools to query third-party websites, domains, IP addresses, or other online resources, the corresponding target services may also process your request data according to their own rules; and
- once you click and navigate to a third-party webpage or third-party app, the privacy practices of that page or service are not governed by this Privacy Policy.
8. Data Storage and Retention
8.1 Local Storage
App settings, search history, favorites, custom configurations, and certain cache data are generally stored locally on your device. The retention period depends on:
- whether you actively delete the relevant records;
- whether you clear the App's data through system settings; and
- whether you uninstall the App.
8.2 Servers and Third-Party Services
For data generated in the course of version checks, advertising, crash monitoring, analytics, network-based features, and app store transactions, we generally process such data only for the shortest reasonable period necessary to achieve the relevant purpose. In general:
- access records, error logs, or temporary request records related to version checks, network requests, basic security protection, and troubleshooting are retained only for as long as necessary to maintain service stability, perform security review, investigate issues, and prevent abuse, and are deleted or de-identified when no longer needed;
- data related to crash monitoring, analytics, ad delivery, and advertising measurement may be processed by the relevant third-party service providers according to their privacy policies and retention rules;
- information related to in-app purchases, purchase restoration, transaction status verification, and benefit fulfillment may be retained for as long as necessary to process transactions, perform obligations, reconcile records, conduct audits, resolve disputes, prevent fraud, or comply with legal requirements; and
- where laws, regulations, regulatory requirements, judicial procedures, audit obligations, or security needs require longer retention, we may retain relevant information for the required period.
If you would like to understand the processing or deletion arrangements applicable to your information, you may contact us using the contact details listed in this Privacy Policy. Where information must be retained by law or cannot be immediately deleted due to technical limitations, we will delete, anonymize, or otherwise handle it once the relevant retention conditions are satisfied.
9. How We Protect Your Information
We take reasonable security measures to protect your information, including but not limited to:
- using secure transmission methods such as HTTPS for network communications;
- controlling access to servers and administrative systems;
- using crash monitoring and log auditing to detect and fix issues in a timely manner; and
- following the principle of data minimization wherever reasonably possible.
However, please understand that no internet transmission or electronic storage method can be guaranteed to be absolutely secure.
10. Your Rights and Choices
To the extent permitted by applicable law, you may:
- disable ad personalization, limit advertising identifier use, or deny / withdraw ATT authorization on iOS through system settings;
- delete certain history records, cache, or configurations through available in-app features;
- clear App data through system settings or uninstall the App to remove data stored locally on your device; and
- contact us to ask questions, provide feedback, or request handling of privacy-related matters, including requests to understand relevant processing, request correction, deletion, or exercise other rights available under applicable law.
If you submit a privacy-related request by email, we may require necessary information to verify your identity and clarify the scope of your request before processing it. We will handle your request within the period required by applicable law or within a reasonable timeframe.
If you choose not to grant certain permissions or disable certain system authorizations, related dependent features may not function properly, but this generally will not affect your use of other core features of the App. For information that we must retain by law, to perform a contract, or to protect transaction security, we may not be able to immediately fulfill deletion requests, but we will handle them as soon as legally and technically practicable.
11. Protection of Minors
The App is a general utility service and is not primarily directed to minors.
If you are a minor, please read this Privacy Policy and decide whether to agree to it under the guidance of your parent or legal guardian. If we become aware that we have processed a minor's personal information without the required guardian consent, we will delete it or otherwise handle it in accordance with applicable law.
12. Cross-Border Processing
Because service providers such as Google, Apple, and Sentry may provide services from different countries or regions, certain data may be transferred to, stored in, or processed outside your jurisdiction in accordance with the relevant service architecture. We will make reasonable efforts to select service providers with appropriate security capabilities and require them to process relevant data in accordance with applicable law and their privacy policies.
13. Updates to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy based on product changes, legal requirements, or compliance needs. The updated version will be presented through in-app pages, our official website, or other reasonable means. If an update involves a material change, we will provide further notice where required by applicable law.
